Bonne Maman & Julia Busuttil Bring Paris to Carlton

Bonne Maman teams up with Julia Busuttil Nishimura for a French-inspired bake sale in Melbourne

Carlton will be infused with the scent of buttery pastries and sweet jam on Saturday, 30 August 2025, when iconic French brand Bonne Maman joins forces with celebrated chef and bestselling author Julia Busuttil Nishimura for a one-day-only bake sale. The pop-up at La Maison de Maître will mark the launch of Bonne Maman’s latest promotion, giving one lucky customer the chance to win a seven-night trip for two to Paris, valued at $20,000.

From Monday, 1 September, anyone purchasing a full-sized Bonne Maman spread can enter the draw, with the prize including accommodation, spending money, and the chance to experience the essence of Bonne Maman in its homeland. In the meantime, the Carlton event will offer locals a taste of provincial France, with Julia serving three French-inspired baked goods crafted with Bonne Maman’s signature flavours: strawberry, raspberry and blackberry.

The first 200 visitors will receive a complimentary mini croissant with a petite jar of Bonne Maman jam, an extra treat to enjoy on the spot or take home. Julia says the partnership is a natural fit, built on a shared love for quality ingredients and the joy of baking. “Baking, for me, is about simplicity and using high-quality produce, and my partnership with Bonne Maman is a match made in baking heaven,” she explains. “My food is generous of spirit and pleasurable to make, provoking joy and nostalgia, just as Bonne Maman conserves make me feel.”

For Julia, the collaboration also carries personal significance. Bonne Maman jams were a fixture in her childhood, with her mother often baking cakes filled with jam and cream for visiting children. “Now that I have children of my own, my mum makes scones slathered with Bonne Maman strawberry conserve. It’s so special to see the tradition continuing,” she says.
