About
Classic cocktails and a refined atmosphere celebrate the legacy of Melbourne's historic Savoy Hotel in the heart of the CBD.
Paying tribute to its lively past, Alexander Bar is named after the original owner of the hotel first built on the site in the 1880s, and reincarnated in 1926 as The Hotel Alexander.

Loved everything about this quaint restaurant & bar. Almost like having a personal dining experience. The food is sensational. Seafood & steaks cooked to perfection. The signature cocktails each have their own little story and are served with style. Staff super friendly.… Just the perfect spot for a pleasant night in a place that does it all with class.
We returned for a night cap at the hotel bar on a Friday night and received the bartender's insightful serve of the cocktail dedicated to Ella Fitzgerald. The music was jazzy and the atmosphere was calming, just what we needed.
We had such a lovely night here. The Savoy Hotel in house restaurant is delightful. The quality of food, variety in menu, and staff helpfulness made our night perfect. We enjoyed the perfectly cooked barramundi with a silky rich prawn broth and sweet finger limes pearls, … roast pumpkin with perfectly creamy risotto and a chilli garlic linguini with a crunch that perfectly balanced the dish. We enjoyed well seasoned fries on the side and a few drinks. A great stay and dinner. Thank you
I loved every part of my experience here. I was greeted with happy and helpful staff. Was extremely happy to chat about everything and talked well. My steak was the best in every way, while my partner loved her burger. Was a little on the pricy side, but thatu2019s fine for the… quality of the service and food!
