About this event

Join Melbourne Working Holiday Girls for our Book Club Social!

MWHG Book Club – Let’s Talk Books!

Love getting lost in magical worlds and epic romances? Come join us for a cosy evening chatting all things books with like-minded Working Holiday girlies in Melbourne.

Each session we pick a book to read beforehand, then meet up to share theories, favourite characters, emotional damage moments, and everything we loved – or didn’t. Whether you’re a casual reader or a full fantasy girly, everyone’s welcome.

This session’s genre theme: Fantasy / Romance 🐉✨ This session’s book: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

You don’t have to finish the book before the session – but fair warning, there may be spoilers. Paperback, Kindle or audiobook – all totally fine.

What to expect:

🥂 Included Drink on Arrival – Enjoy a welcome drink when you arrive to kick off the evening.

💬 Book Club Icebreakers – Fun, fantasy-themed prompts and games to get everyone chatting about favourite characters, dragon riders, plot twists, spicy moments, and all your hot takes.

🛋️ Cosy Book Chats – A relaxed and friendly environment to meet fellow book lovers and make new friends while chatting all things romantasy.

🤍 Reserved Area – We’ll have a space just for our group so everyone feels comfortable and can easily mingle.

🍹 Food & Drinks Available – Additional drinks and food will be available to purchase if you’d like to stay a little longer.

💬 Instagram Group Chat – Created one day before the event so you can connect with the other girls coming along. We’ll use the same groupchat for all future book fantasty/romance book club socials!

📚 Optional Blind Date with a Book (Fantasy / Romance Edition) – Bring along a wrapped fantasy or romance book you’d love someone else to discover. Hide the cover and write a vague description and genre on the outside – no spoilers. At the end of the night, everyone will randomly pick a new book to take home. Inside your book, include a small note with your thoughts and your Instagram handle.

What’s not included:

📖 Book discussed in session – Please grab your own copy of Fourth Wing (paperback, Kindle or audiobook) before the event. 🎀 Optional Blind Date Book – Optional but highly encouraged. Bring a wrapped fantasy or romance book to swap with the girlies.
