Welcome to Speed Mating: Silent Disco Edition – a queer social experiment with a twist.

This time, we’re taking things to Creature, your favourite dive bar with a rainbow heart, and turning connection into something a little different. Think music in your ears, low-pressure vibes, and conversations that happen on your terms.

Speed Mating is designed for LGBTQIA+ folks, especially our neurodivergent community, who want to build confidence, meet new people, and connect in a space that actually feels comfortable.

What to expect:

• A silent disco setup so you can control your sensory experience
• Bring your own headphones so you can stay in your comfort zone
• Light prompts and activities to make starting conversations easier
• A relaxed, come as you are atmosphere with zero pressure to “perform” socially
• A new format each time – we’re always experimenting, so no two nights are the same
• A fully platonic space focused on connection, not dating

Why we exist:

Speed Mating is about making queer spaces feel more accessible, especially for those who don’t always feel at home in them. Whether you’re shy, socially rusty, or just over high energy events, this is a space where you can show up exactly as you are and still belong.

• Please arrive by 5:45pm for a 6:00pm start
• Please bring your own set of headphones to listen to if you wish you participate in the silent disco portion of the evening

• Tickets are $5.00 to help cover event costs and keep things running sustainably.
• Please note that tickets are non-refundable.

• This is not a dating or hook up event. It’s about friendship, building social confidence, and finding your place in community – so please respect the vibe.
• We have a handful of financial hardship tickets available for this event. This means if you are not currently working, receiving an income OR cannot afford to come along – you can still join us.
