When the Rain Stops: Puddles & Silhouettes in Watercolour

Capture the quiet beauty of a post-rain moment.

In this beginner-friendly watercolour workshop, you’ll learn how to paint soft reflections, gentle puddles, and simple silhouettes using easy techniques.

A calm, atmospheric session perfect for anyone wanting to explore mood and storytelling in watercolour.

Description

When the rain stops, the world becomes still — puddles shimmer, light softens, and silhouettes glow against reflective ground.

In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to translate that peaceful scene into a watercolour painting.

We’ll start with simple warm-ups to build confidence, then explore glazing, wet-on-wet washes, and how to create clean silhouettes.

You’ll learn how reflections work, how to soften transitions, and how to balance light and shadow to create mood.

Whether you’re completely new to watercolour or looking to refine your atmospheric painting style, this session will guide you step by step.

You’ll leave with a finished artwork and techniques you can use in future paintings.

All materials are included — just bring yourself and your creativity.
