A Year-Long Adventure Across Australia

Grace Herdman and Matt Millward, both teachers from Brisbane, have won the BIG Aussie Review, granting them a 365-day road trip around Australia, valued at over $250,000. The adventure will commence on July 6, 2026, allowing them to explore Australia's vast landscapes and cultures.

They will travel in a fully equipped Ford Ranger and Crusader caravan, staying at BIG4 Holiday Parks across the country, from Tasmania to the northern regions. The prize includes accommodation, fuel, a food allowance, and equipment for content creation to document their journey.

Sean Jenner, CEO of BIG4 Holiday Parks, emphasised, "Australians don’t need a passport to have an incredible holiday – the best trips are right here in our own backyard. Grace and Matt embody exactly the spirit we were looking for."

Documenting the Journey

Throughout the year, Grace and Matt will document their travels, sharing reviews of destinations and local attractions through video, social media, and editorial content. This will provide inspiration for Australians to explore their own country and appreciate its beauty.

Their journey will take them along the east coast, through Western Australia, and across South Australia. They aim to capture the essence of Australia’s diverse landscapes and culture, offering a unique perspective on the nation's highlights.

Grace expressed her excitement, saying, "We love being outdoors and this is genuinely a dream come true. Wherever BIG4 wants us to go, we'll be there – and we promise to find all the best gems along the way."

Recent research shows that 47% of Australians prioritise travel over other discretionary spending. Despite the rising cost of living, 83% are willing to make trade-offs to afford their trips. Domestic tourism continues to surge, with forecasts predicting Australian travellers will spend $83 billion on local travel by 2030.

Australians can follow their adventure on the BIG4 website and social media under @thebigaussiereview. This provides a glimpse of the unique experiences and scenic locations found across the country, encouraging others to embark on their own adventures.

Grace and Matt have previously spent weekends camping and exploring the Queensland coast. They also completed an eight-week road trip from Brisbane to Melbourne in the 2025/26 summer holidays, preparing them for this upcoming journey.

Melbourne’s biggest moments, straight to you.
