Event rescheduled to June following weather disruptions

BUNBURY — The Bunbury Memory Walk & Jog, scheduled for March 28 at Back Beach, has been postponed due to Tropical Cyclone Narelle, according to Dementia Australia. The event will now take place on June 20.

The Perth Memory Walk & Jog, planned for March 29 at Burswood Park, is also rescheduled to June 21. Dementia Australia emphasised participant safety as the primary reason for the delay, citing expected heavy rain and strong winds.

Impact of Cyclone Narelle on Events

Andrea Hogan, spokesperson for Dementia Australia, stated, “Our priority is ensuring the safety of all participants, staff, and volunteers.” The organisation expressed gratitude for ongoing support despite the setback and assured that the National Dementia Helpline remains operational for those seeking assistance.

Dementia Australia provides vital services to over 446,500 Australians living with dementia and their caregivers. The decision to postpone aligns with the organisation’s commitment to safety and community well-being amid the cyclone’s potential impact.

The June events promise to be vibrant and successful, continuing the tradition of community involvement and support for Dementia Australia’s mission. All registered participants will be contacted with further information, and registration remains open for those who wish to join and contribute to this significant cause.
