Bike Ed Instructor Training –
The Bike Ed Instructor Training covers the necessary skills and content for teachers to deliver the Bike Ed program within the school environment. Importantly it also provides the formal accreditation required to take students on a group ride outside of the school grounds.
The Bike Ed program is based around activities to keep the students engaged and provide specific teaching points to help teachers communicate the skills required to students as they require them.
The program gives children and adults the opportunity to learn about safe riding behaviours, road rules and riding in a shared environment. Bike Ed uses practical lessons to ensure riders have the physical abilities to ride safely and older students to ride independently.

Mount Pleasant Road Primary sits in a leafy pocket of Nunawading, not far from local bike paths and quiet residential streets. The atmosphere is relaxed and community-oriented, so expect a group of fellow teachers and locals keen to share practical riding tips and real-life cycling stories. You'll get plenty of real-world advice on navigating Melbourne’s cycling landscape with kids in tow. This session is ideal for educators, parents or community volunteers wanting formal credentials for leading bike rides. Unlike online modules, this training gets you out on the bike for hands-on practice and gives you a direct line to experienced instructors. It’s a rare chance to build confidence while connecting with others who care about safe cycling in our suburbs.
