Cloth nappy workshop – hybrid

Join us for an informative cloth nappy workshop where you can learn all about the benefits of using cloth nappies for your little one. Our expert will guide you through the process of choosing, using, and caring for cloth nappies. You’ll also have the chance to ask any questions you may have and connect with other parents who are on the same journey. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment and your baby’s comfort!

The workshop covers the benefits of cloth nappies (environmental, financial), the different styles, how to wash them, and simple tips and tricks to make cloth super easy. With over 60 nappies and accessories, you can check out not only cloth nappies, but also other reusables such as pull-ups, swim nappies and cloth wipes.

4 workshops are available between July 2026 to June 2027. Please check our homepage for more date and location for this workshop.

About the presenter

Elana is the owner of Cloth Nappy Workshops Melbourne and its active Facebook group with over 1,500 members.

Elana lives a minimalist and low waste lifestyle, with two young children who spent a combined 5 years in cloth nappies. She has a degree in Social Science (Environment) and is passionate about reducing the environmental impact of households, but also understands the pressures of modern life and balancing work and children. Elana has spent the last 9 years running workshops, having presented at a number of Council events and festivals.

This workshop is free, but booking is essential.

Hybrid session:

This workshop can be joined either online or in person. We will provide a dedicated location for the session, but if you are unable to attend in person you can still join the workshop online via the Zoom link.

Elana will be presenting remotely online, accompanied by presentation slides, and will showcase different types of nappies and how to use them. This will still be a live session so you can ask any questions you have about the nappies.

Flemington Library is a relaxed, family-friendly spot, and these workshops have a real community feel. It's less about being lectured and more about swapping stories, picking up practical tips, and seeing just how straightforward cloth nappies can be when you have a local expert showing you the ropes. The library itself is pram-accessible and has a great little playground across the road, so there's space to let little ones have a run before or after. This session is perfect for new or expecting parents, or anyone curious about making a change for both the environment and their wallet. What makes it stand out in Melbourne is the hybrid format: you can join in person or online, making it accessible no matter your weekend plans or how much energy you have to get out of the house.

Insider tip
Arrive a little early to snag a comfy spot and settle in with your pram or carrier.
