Sangeeta Kaur & Van-Anh Nguyen in Concert
Join Sangeeta Kaur and Van-Anh Nguyen for an intimate and unforgettable evening of music at The Edge at Federation Square.
American-Vietnamese Grammy award winning soprano Sangeeta Kaur joins Australian-Vietnamese ARIA-nominated/Universal signed concert pianist Van-Anh Nguyen in an intimate concert, performing works that span the classical, classical crossover genres, opera, musical theatre and originals. The program moves through different worlds of sound and energy through expressive vocals, virtuosic piano solos and beautiful instrumental collaborations, woven with story telling, connection and bridging cultures and generations.
The Edge is a striking indoor amphitheatre, where soaring acoustic glass overlooking the Yarra River meets a warm, geometric timber interior creating a dramatic yet intimate setting for the music.
The concert unfolds in two halves with a 20-minute intermission, giving you time to mingle, take in the beautiful surroundings and return refreshed for the second half.
Featuring Melbourne’s very own Aly Partridge on cello and Freya Franzen on violin, the evening brings four exceptional musicians together for an experience filled with beauty, energy, and virtuosity.
Program includes:
Excerpts from West Side Story, Cats.
Rachmaninoff Piano & Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 19 (3rd movement)
Piazzolla ‘Spring’ from The Four Seasons
Mendelssohn Piano Trio in D minor Op 49 (1st movement)
