Switzerland tops the list with a score of 86, lauded for its stable economy and career prospects. Singapore and Australia follow, scoring 81 and 80 respectively.
Key Destinations for Global Opportunities
Dominic Volek, Group Head of Private Clients at Henley & Partners, stated, “Our index shows where academic credentials and ambition translate most effectively into sustained career success.” The report highlights that while degrees from top universities are valuable, their long-term success depends on where graduates can utilise them.
The report also ranks the UK and US in fourth place, both scoring 79, emphasizing their concentration of top universities and innovation-driven economies. Canada is noted for its international labour market, ranking fifth with a score of 78.
Henley & Partners emphasises the importance of global mobility and the impact of residency options on career advancement. The 2026 Opportunity Index not only highlights the countries with the best educational prospects but also examines how these opportunities are accessible through various residency and citizenship programs. The expanding global landscape allows individuals to pursue options that best align with their career goals, offering a competitive edge in the global market. Countries like Germany, Japan, and the Netherlands also feature prominently in the index, showcasing their commitment to innovation and education, with scores just shy of the top five.
