Enterprise Ireland Leads the Sports Tech Mission

Enterprise Ireland, Europe’s largest sports tech venture capital investor, has launched a mission involving eleven Irish sports tech companies touring Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland from 18th to 27th May 2026. These companies are set to meet with AFL and NRL teams, the Victorian Institute of Sport, Eden Park, and High Performance Sport New Zealand to explore collaboration opportunities.

The mission aligns with Ireland’s newly launched International Sports Diplomacy Strategy 2026–2030, unveiled at Marvel Stadium earlier this month. Hexis, an Irish nutrition technology company, has announced that the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) is now using its AI-powered platform for real-time, personalised fuelling strategies for athletes. This technology integrates meal planning, education, and communication, supporting scalable nutrition across diverse high-performance athletes.

Enterprise Ireland’s Influence in Sports Tech

Since 2024, Enterprise Ireland has completed 19 sports tech investment deals, triple the number of the nearest competitors in Europe. This success supports its International Sports Diplomacy Strategy, allowing further expansion into international markets. Dr. David Dunne, CEO of Hexis, remarked, “SASI’s athletes now receive 24/7 personalised nutrition coaching, optimising fuelling, enhancing performance, and accelerating recovery.” Olivia Warnes, a sports dietitian at SASI, noted, “HEXIS provides an evidence-based, athlete-empowered approach that allows SASI Sports Dietitians to support personalised nutrition strategies.”

The mission includes companies like Kitman Labs and Orreco, focusing on athlete performance, and firms like Clubforce and Tixserve, which enhance fan and community engagement. Field of Vision’s AI-powered tactile devices for visually impaired fans are already live at Marvel Stadium and were used at the Australian Open, showcasing Ireland’s technological reach. Tixserve developed a custom digital ticketing solution for the 2025 British and Irish Lions Tour in partnership with Rugby Australia, further solidifying Irish tech innovation in sports.

Output Sports, another participant, counts prestigious clients such as the All Blacks and New Zealand Warriors among its customers. This highlights the significant impact and reach of Irish sports technology companies in global markets.

Melbourne’s biggest moments, straight to you.
