WHO WE ARE
The Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (ACPCC) Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation drawing on over 50 years of expertise in cancer prevention through pathology services, cancer screening and vaccination registries. We have helped to reduce the mortality rate from cervical cancer in Victoria to half that of the rest of Australia. Our purpose aligns with the World Health Organization's Call to Action to eliminate cervical cancer for all women.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a qualified Anatomical Pathologist to join our VCS Pathology team on a part-time or full-time basis.
This role will suit an experienced pathologist, and we equally welcome recently qualified specialists and new Fellows. Experience in gynaecological pathology and cytopathology is highly regarded, but not essential - ACPCC provides structured supervision, mentoring and training to help you build expertise in these areas with the support of an established specialist team.
Your primary responsibility is diagnostic reporting of gynaecological cytology (liquid-based and conventional), histology and non-gynaecological cytology. You will also contribute to quality assurance and cytology review, teaching for scientists and Cytopathology trainees, clinician consultation, and research and special projects.
A full position description is available on request.
ABOUT YOU
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (Anatomical Pathology), or equivalent qualification recognised by the RCPA.
- Current general or specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility to obtain it.
- A commitment to diagnostic accuracy, quality systems and collegial practice.
- An interest in developing (or further developing) expertise in gynaecological pathology and cytopathology.
*Applications from candidates requiring visa sponsorship will be considered.
WHAT WE ARE OFFERING
- Competitive remuneration, with the full benefit of not-for-profit salary packaging – up to $15,900 general packaging plus $2,650 meals and entertainment.
- Structured supervision and a supported transition for new Fellows, with dedicated mentoring from senior pathologists.
- Protected CPD time, support for RCPA CPD Program requirements and professional development leave.
- Exceptional case exposure through one of Australia’s highest-volume cervical screening laboratories.
- A collaborative workplace that values learning, quality and excellence.
