Business Legal Support Line starts on 1 July 2026
Victorian Chamber and Committee for Melbourne members will get access to a new Business Legal Support Line from 1 July 2026.
The service comes through a partnership between the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Law Squared. It will offer fast commercial legal guidance for day-to-day business decisions.
Qualified legal professionals will help with commercial and procurement contracts, commercial and retail leasing, corporate governance, intellectual property, debt recovery and business disputes.
According to the Victorian Chamber, the initiative responds to growing demand from businesses seeking accessible and timely legal support in a more complex operating environment.

The Business Legal Support Line will focus on commercial legal matters. It aims to help businesses gain clarity before issues escalate, make informed decisions and reduce uncertainty.
However, the new line will not replace the Victorian Chamber’s Workplace Relations Advice Line. That service will continue to handle employment, workplace and industrial relations matters.
All Victorian Chamber and Committee for Melbourne members will receive the service as part of their membership from 1 July 2026.
Members can submit an online enquiry, and Law Squared will endeavour to contact them within 24 hours. Service hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Victorian Chamber chief executive Sally Curtain said: “Good legal advice shouldn’t only be available once a problem becomes expensive.”
Curtain said businesses often delay getting legal guidance because they worry about cost or do not know where to start. She said a short conversation at the right time can help a business avoid costly mistakes, move faster and make better decisions.
She added: “The Victorian Chamber exists to help businesses succeed. That’s why we’re partnering with Law Squared to give members access to practical commercial legal guidance when they need it, helping them navigate uncertainty with greater confidence.”
Law Squared chief executive Claire Sundin said the firm was built on the idea that legal advice should be clear, practical and accessible, not something businesses delay because of cost or complexity.
