Construction begins on 2 July at 19 Hope Street

Construction will begin on the 351-home Melrose Park Gateway development in Sydney on Thursday, 2 July. Organisers scheduled a sod-turning event for 2:30pm at 19 Hope Street, Melrose Park.

The media alert describes Melrose Park Gateway as one of Sydney’s largest affordable housing projects. That notice confirms the scale of the build and the start of works at the Melrose Park site.

Unlike a full project announcement, the alert does not include a budget, construction end date or staged delivery timetable. However, it sets out key facts for the launch on 2 July, including the address, the 2:30pm start time and the total of 351 homes.

Melrose Park Gateway is framed in the notice as a major affordable housing development in Sydney. As a result, the sod-turning marks a significant construction milestone for the Hope Street site.

Following the start event, media outlets will be able to access photographs and computer-generated images linked to the project. Interview opportunities with PAYCE, Evolve Housing and NSW Government representatives are also part of the launch arrangements.

The event will take place at 19 Hope Street in Melrose Park, with parking directed to Hughes Avenue. Construction begins that afternoon on one of Sydney’s largest affordable housing projects.
