SafeGuard adds real-time driver risk monitoring to VisionAI and Unity
Powerfleet has launched SafeGuard in Australia, giving fleets an AI-powered tool to track driver risk in real time. The add-on works with Powerfleet’s VisionAI video system and is integrated into the Unity platform.
SafeGuard uses artificial intelligence to assess driver risk across a fleet continuously. As a result, safety teams can focus on the events and behaviours most likely to lead to incidents.
Australian operators face rising pressure to improve safety performance. They also need to show proactive risk management under Work Health and Safety rules and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
“Operators have access to more safety data than ever before, but knowing where to focus remains a significant challenge,” said Brodie von Berg, managing director of Powerfleet APAC.
SafeGuard identifies higher-risk drivers and behaviours in real time. That supports earlier intervention, more targeted coaching and faster action before an incident.
Inside the Unity platform, SafeGuard combines real-time risk monitoring, AI-powered driving risk analysis, intelligent video event review and live intervention tools.
Because those features sit in one platform, safety managers get a clearer view of fleet risk. They can prioritise urgent cases instead of reviewing low-value alerts.
Operators using SafeGuard have reported up to 83% lower on-road risk. They also reported 95% fewer false positive video event alerts and an 80% reduction in video review time.
“SafeGuard helps safety teams augment AI video safety by identifying the highest-risk drivers and behaviours in real time, enabling earlier intervention, more effective coaching and safer outcomes across the fleet,” von Berg said.
SafeGuard is available now to Australian fleets as an add-on to VisionAI. Customers can visit www.powerfleet.com/au/safeguard for more information or to book a demonstration.
