Investment in Maestro Platform for Better Planning

ScottsMiracle-Gro has announced an expansion of its partnership with Kinaxis to enhance supply chain agility across its North American operations. The collaboration aims to optimise planning and execution using the Kinaxis Maestro platform. This move is part of a broader transformation initiative to further solidify its supply chain operations.

In a market influenced by seasonal demand and regional variables, ScottsMiracle-Gro intends to improve planning accuracy and supply chain coordination with the AI-driven Kinaxis Maestro platform. This platform allows the company to respond swiftly to changes such as regional weather patterns and retailer promotions.

David Huskisson, Senior Vice President at ScottsMiracle-Gro, stated, “To deliver high-quality, dependable products when and where consumers expect them, we needed a supply chain platform that is dynamic, reliable, and responsive.” This reflects the company’s commitment to consumer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Real-Time Decision Making

The Maestro platform allows ScottsMiracle-Gro to model various scenarios, including weather changes and material constraints, enabling faster response times to demand fluctuations and reducing stockouts. By utilising advanced scenario planning, the company can effectively handle sudden spikes in demand, such as those triggered by a warm spring weekend.

Mark Morgan, President of Global Commercial Operations at Kinaxis, highlighted the partnership’s significance, “With Maestro, they are building a more connected, agile supply chain that can sense change, evaluate options, and respond with confidence.” This advancement supports long-term growth and strengthens service to retail partners.

David Huskisson will join Kinaxis CEO Razat Gaurav on 23rd June at 9:50 CDT at the Reuters Supply Chain USA event to discuss operational orchestration using the Maestro platform. This event will showcase how integrated supply chain solutions can enhance business outcomes.

Previously, ScottsMiracle-Gro relied on manual workflows lacking standardization, which made it difficult to react quickly during peak periods. Transitioning to the Maestro platform signifies a shift towards a unified, AI-powered planning model.

By connecting planning, decision-making, and execution on a unified platform, the company aims to improve responsiveness and optimise performance, supporting its long-term growth objectives.
