Malaysia plant expands manufacturing for power

Vertiv opened a new manufacturing facility in Senai, Johor, on 1 July 2026 to expand capacity for AI and high-density computing infrastructure across Asia.

The Malaysia site covers about 236,000 square feet, or 21,900 square metres. It will support customers in Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

In Senai, Johor, the plant adds regional manufacturing, engineering, logistics and deployment capabilities. It also sits near major technology and customer hubs across the region.

“Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions for AI and digital infrastructure investment, and expanding our manufacturing footprint in Malaysia aims to further enhance our ability to support customers with quality, speed, scale, and resilience,” said Giordano Albertazzi, chief executive of Vertiv.

The Johor plant handles end-to-end manufacturing, assembly and witness testing for advanced thermal and power infrastructure. As a result, Vertiv aims to cut deployment risk and speed up time to capacity for enterprise, cloud and colocation customers.

Products planned for the site include Vertiv CoolChip coolant distribution units for liquid cooling, Vertiv Power Module systems, Vertiv Power Skid units and the Vertiv SmartRun overhead infrastructure system.

The facility also includes dedicated flushing and validation environments for high-density liquid cooling systems. In addition, teams can test CDU equipment across a full range of capacities and run simultaneous tests on multiple power modules and skids.

According to Vertiv, the plant operates under global quality management standards and complies with ISO standards. That process supports validated performance for power and cooling systems before regional deployment.

Albertazzi called the Johor facility part of Vertiv’s wider capacity planning and deployment strategy for regional and global manufacturing growth.

At the launch event, Tuan Haji Natazha Hariss, chief executive of Invest Johor, linked Vertiv’s investment to Johor’s role in digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.

“We are pleased to welcome Vertiv’s investment in Johor, which reflects the growing confidence in the state’s role as a strategic hub for digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing,” Natazha Hariss said.

Natazha Hariss also pointed to high-value jobs, local talent development and stronger industry capability in Johor over the long term.
