Partnership adds U.S. fill-finish for clinical programmes

AGC Biologics entered a strategic partnership with Pyramid Pharma Services in Seattle on 30 June 2026 to add U.S.-based sterile fill-finish for clinical programmes.

The collaboration links AGC Biologics’ drug substance development and manufacturing with Pyramid’s sterile drug product manufacturing in the United States.

Clients can use one U.S.-based route from drug substance to drug product, including sterile fill-finish, device assembly, labelling and secondary packaging.

The service covers liquid vials, lyophilised vials, pre-filled syringes and cartridges for clinical programmes in the United States.

AGC Biologics said the integrated model gives clients project management, fewer handoffs and lower complexity from early development to commercial supply.

Christoph Winterhalter, chief business officer at AGC Biologics, said: “With this U.S.-based fill-finish option, our Seattle site is well-positioned for developers that desire or even require end-to-end production in the U.S.”

Winterhalter said AGC Biologics will combine its mammalian and microbial manufacturing experience with Pyramid’s sterile dose delivery under a single contract.

AGC Biologics said the new U.S. Offering complements its existing European fill-finish capabilities and adds geographic flexibility for clients.

According to the 30 June 2026 statement, the added U.S. Capacity may help developers manage tariff exposure and improve supply chain security.

Pyramid Pharma Services brings nearly four decades of sterile injectable drug product development experience, including 26 years in GMP manufacturing.

The company also has more than 10 years of commercial supply experience in sterile injectable drug products.

Pyramid’s technical work includes complex formulations, lyophilisation and scalable technology transfer for development and commercialisation.

Its services cover formulation and process development, clinical and commercial fill-finish, device assembly, labelling, packaging and analytical services.
