Crusader Caravans Data Reveals Shifting Traveller Trends

Increased Interest in Locally Made Caravans

Crusader Caravans, the second largest Australian caravan manufacturer, has reported a 17.7% increase in website traffic over the past year, with 440,217 total users, indicating a shift towards locally made caravans.

New data reveals that Australian travellers are increasingly prioritising locally manufactured caravans due to their quality, durability, and long-term value. This shift is largely driven by the ongoing cost-of-living pressures and rising fuel costs affecting Australian households.

Crusader’s value brand, Dreamhaven, experienced a remarkable 400% surge in search interest within just six months, placing it among the top 15 Australian-made caravan brands. This highlights the growing demand for more accessible entry points into the Australian-made caravanning market.

Founder Serge Valentino expressed that, “We recognise that it’s a difficult time for many Australians with ongoing cost pressures and fuel prices. As a result, we are seeing a real flight to quality.”

Expansion to Meet Demand

To cater to the growing demand, Crusader has expanded production at its Epping, Victoria facility. The company focuses on standardising high-value features, like airbags in the MY26 off-road range, without additional costs to customers.

Valentino added, “Our investment in Victorian manufacturing ensures we can manage lead times while maintaining the premium build quality our customers expect.”

Families and solo travellers have emerged as significant customer segments, spending more time researching caravan layouts. Last month, Crusader’s ‘Build Your Van’ configurator recorded nearly 20,000 clicks as consumers actively engaged in designing their ideal caravans.

Crusader Caravans, backed by over 20 years of manufacturing excellence, continues to strengthen its position in the market by consistently delivering high-quality caravans that offer strong resale value. The company’s commitment to locally made products reflects its understanding of local conditions and the importance of long-term value for every dollar spent.

As global instability continues to impact everyday life, Australian consumers are increasingly choosing trusted local manufacturing. This trend is expected to persist, reinforcing Crusader’s role as a leading player in the Australian caravan industry.
