Showcase Features Over 25 Local Businesses

In anticipation of Australian Made Week 2026, Australian Made has teamed up with interior designer James Treble to create a showcase of locally made products at the Australian Made House. The event, running from the 18th to 24th May, highlights the versatility and quality of Australian design.

The showcase features contributions from over 25 local businesses, each offering products that carry the iconic green-and-gold kangaroo logo. These products range from furniture and homewares to building materials, demonstrating their integration into stylish, everyday living spaces.

James Treble, who directed and styled the space, said, "This project is about showing people that designing a beautiful home doesn’t mean looking overseas, everything you need already exists here." He emphasised the importance of creating spaces that feel lived-in and personal.

Supporting Local Industry

The Australian Made House is a key feature of the broader Australian Made Week initiative, which encourages Australians to consider locally made products in their purchasing decisions. The initiative aims to boost the local economy and support Australian manufacturing.

Ben Lazzaro, Australian Made Chief Executive, commented on the project: "It has been rewarding to bring together Australian Made products, brands, and craftsmanship within a single, cohesive space. Choosing Australian Made products delivers far-reaching benefits beyond the immediate purchase."

According to Lazzaro, if every household spends an additional $20 a week on Australian Made products, it could generate an additional $11 billion for the economy and create up to 20,000 new jobs. The showcase reflects the potential impact of supporting local industries.

Australian Made Week serves as a reminder that small changes in consumer habits can significantly impact the local economy. For more information and to explore certified Australian Made products, visit australianmadeweek.com.au.

The Australian Made House installation spans various spaces, including living, dining, bedroom, and outdoor areas. It highlights the breadth of Australian manufacturing, featuring furniture, homewares, building materials, and everyday essentials all styled to create authentic, warm environments.

This design-led activation showcases how Australian Made products can be seamlessly integrated into every room of a home. It not only promotes great design but also emphasises conscious purchasing decisions that support local communities.
