Registration Deadline for Affected Patients Approaches
MELBOURNE — Thousands of former patients of the Lanzer Clinics have registered for a class action lawsuit against Dr Daniel Lanzer and his associates, citing negligent practices during cosmetic surgeries, according to Maddens Lawyers. The case, which will be tried in the Supreme Court of Victoria in September, involves allegations that the clinics engaged in misleading practices resulting in patient injuries.
Led by Maddens Lawyers, the class action targets several practitioners, including Dr Daniel Aronov and psychologist Candice Wainstein. Principal Kathryn Emeny stated that clinics operated nationwide in locations such as Sydney and Perth, and that over 2,500 individuals have registered to date. “The response has been overwhelming, with many reporting adverse surgical outcomes,” Emeny said.
Legal Proceedings and Background
The lawsuit seeks compensation for patients who experienced negative outcomes from procedures like liposuction and facelifts. Those affected have until April 10 to register or opt out. The class action also demands refunds and compensation for pain and corrective surgery costs. Mediation is set for May, with Maddens Lawyers handling the case on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis.
