U.S. Polo Assn. links 30-minute special to America's 250th Anniversary
ESPN will air a 30-minute special called Breakaway: Polo in America as U.S. Polo Assn. Marks America’s 250th Anniversary in 2026. The episode will also stream globally on Global Polo’s YouTube channel.
U.S. Polo Assn. Announced the project on 2nd July 2026 from West Palm Beach, Florida. The brand is the official sports brand of the United States Polo Association, or USPA.
The award-winning Breakaway Series will produce the episode. It will show the long history of polo in the United States and the sport’s impact on America over the past century.
Founded in 1890, the USPA ranks among the oldest national governing bodies for sport in the United States. U.S. Polo Assn. Now operates as a multi-billion-dollar global brand inspired by the tradition of polo.
J. Michael Prince, president and chief executive of USPA Global, called the anniversary a natural time to honour the sport’s heritage and the country’s enduring spirit. He also said the ESPN partnership would spotlight polo’s influence in America for more than 100 years.

Across retail locations and digital platforms, U.S. Polo Assn. Is planning curated collections and brand storytelling tied to classic American style. The campaign features the label’s red, white and blue colour palette and sport-led design.
Meanwhile, the brand now has a presence in more than 190 countries and thousands of retail locations worldwide. Despite that scale, U.S. Polo Assn. Continues to link its image to classic American style, the sport of polo and the polo lifestyle.
Polo reached the United States in 1876, beginning an American legacy in the sport. That history later extended to Olympic competition in 1924 in Paris.
