What's On in Mentone

About events in Mentone

Mentone has long had a relaxed, coastal feel, with its leafy streets gently leading down to one of Melbourne's loveliest stretches of beach. We find a welcoming mix of old-school charm and contemporary touches, from the historic Mentone Hotel to new cafés dotted along the shopping strip. Locals and visitors gather for community markets, live music in cosy bars, art exhibitions, and family-friendly festivals, often making use of the foreshore parks and the local arts centre. The area’s strong sense of community comes through in everything from theatre performances to Sunday morning yoga on the sand.

Getting to Mentone is easy, with its recently upgraded train station on the Frankston line putting the suburb within comfortable reach of the city and the bayside. Buses and ample parking also make it a convenient destination for those coming from neighbouring suburbs. The atmosphere is always laid-back, and there’s a gentle buzz on weekends as people linger over coffee, browse local shops, or join in whatever event is on offer.
