The Clayton RSL has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that’s made for laid-back afternoons with friends or family. When the Victorian Jazz Club hosts events here, it draws a mix of regulars and newcomers, so there’s always a buzz and plenty of friendly faces. The Pearly Shells Hot Six are known for their foot-tapping sets that get even the shyest dancers up for a spin, and Swing Patrol’s pre-show dance class is a rare treat for those wanting to dip a toe into swing. This is perfect for anyone who loves live music with a social twist, whether you dance or just want to watch the band do their thing. Unlike some of the city’s jazz nights, this one feels genuinely accessible and all about having a good time, not just sitting quietly in a dark club. Book early if you want a decent seat, as these Sunday afternoons fill up quickly.

Insider tip
Arrive early if you want a table close to the dancefloor or stage.
