Chairman resumes chief executive role as Sanjay Goorachurn steps down
Medisca has named founder and chairman Antonio Dos Santos as chief executive officer, returning him to the top operating role as the Montreal company pushes into its next phase of growth.
The company announced the leadership change on 29 June 2026. It also confirmed that Sanjay Goorachurn has stepped down as chief executive officer.
Dos Santos founded Medisca in 1989 and has spent more than 35 years building the business into a global leader in pharmaceutical compounding.
As CEO, Dos Santos will lead Medisca’s long-term strategy. That plan includes expanding global reach, investing in new areas of growth, and strengthening strategic partnerships.
Medisca also plans to advance the products, services, education and expertise that healthcare professionals rely on every day.
Medisca growth plans
“When I founded Medisca, my vision was to raise the standard of pharmaceutical compounding by bringing pharmaceutical-grade quality to the industry and giving healthcare professionals access to the products, knowledge, and innovation they needed to deliver better patient care,” said Antonio Dos Santos, founder and chief executive officer of Medisca.
Dos Santos said Medisca will keep investing in its people, partnerships and innovation as it begins its next chapter.
Meanwhile, he will work alongside vice-chair Maria Zaccardo and Medisca’s C-suite to guide the company’s strategic direction.
That leadership team will back Medisca’s global expansion and its long-term growth plans. The 29 June 2026 statement did not name a separate successor role for Goorachurn.
Maria Zaccardo, Medisca’s vice-chair, said the company has grown for more than three decades by staying true to its purpose while evolving with the needs of healthcare professionals.
As part of the leadership transition, Medisca thanked Sanjay Goorachurn for his dedication and contributions to the organisation and wished him continued success.
Founded in 1989, Medisca focuses on personalized medicine and pharmaceutical supply chain solutions. The company says it remains committed to empowering personalized wellness for all.
Its portfolio includes more than 2,000 products. Medisca also maintains a library of more than 10,000 proprietary and customised medication formulas.
In addition, Medisca offers expertise and services in pharmaceutical compounding, continuing healthcare education and analytical testing.
Those services support diverse wellness sectors in numerous markets globally and help healthcare professionals deliver better patient care around the world.
