Key Speakers and Topics Revealed for November Event
Doctors For Nutrition is thrilled to announce the Lifestyle Medicine Conference 2026, scheduled for 28th November in Sydney. This major event will emphasise how nutrition and lifestyle medicine can transform health and wellbeing across populations.
Christopher Gardner, PhD, a renowned nutrition scientist from Stanford, will deliver the keynote address titled ‘Protein wars and planetary health.’ With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Gardner has led over 25 human nutrition intervention studies, investigating diets like Mediterranean, Ketogenic, Vegan, Low-Fat, and Low-Carb.
Dr. Gardner’s research focuses on the effects of these diets on blood lipids, glucose, and inflammation. He is currently exploring personalized nutrition, particularly the gut microbiome. His expertise is frequently sought by major media outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, and MSNBC. His work was recently featured in the Emmy-awarded docuseries ‘You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment’ in January 2024.
Joining him, Dr. Juliette Roex, a general practitioner from Adelaide, will present on ‘The power of the pillow: Optimising health through circadian mastery.’ Driven by the transformative impact of whole food plant-based nutrition, she aims to inspire lifestyle changes for improved health outcomes.
Dr. Roex is a member of the DFN Advisory Council and practices Lifestyle Medicine at InHealth North Adelaide. Her commitment to plant-based nutrition was strengthened by witnessing patient transformations during her clinical rotation at True North Health Centre in Santa Rosa, California.
Dr. Chris Davis will discuss ‘Rethinking alcohol: From lifestyle risk to recovery and resilience,’ addressing the health risks of alcohol consumption and recovery pathways. Dr. Megan Lee will present ‘Nutritional psychiatry: Plants, lifestyle, and mental health,’ focusing on the impact of plant-based diets on mental health.
Event Details and Registration
The conference will be hosted at the Sydney Masonic Centre, with an additional lifestyle medicine exam held at the University of Technology Sydney on 29th November. Attendees can earn Continuing Professional Development hours.
Rebecca Deutsch will present ‘Empowerment through exercise’ and moderate a panel discussion. Meanwhile, Dr. Luke Wilson will offer insights on ‘Making healthy change easier: Supporting lifestyle behaviour change in real clinical practice.’
