Event Details and Registration Information

Australia’s iconic team hiking and fundraising challenge, Coastrek, will make its way back to the Sunshine Coast on Friday, 17th July 2026. This event is a call to action for those wanting to support mental health charity Beyond Blue, with registrations closing by 7th June. Participants have the option to choose from three scenic routes: the 50km ‘Gutsy Adventurer’ beginning in Noosa, the 30km ‘Nature Seeker’ starting from Peregian Beach, and the 20km ‘Trail Taster’ from Marcoola Beach. Each trail offers unique coastal views and a chance to explore nature.

The 50km trek begins at sunrise, winding through Noosa’s beaches and boardwalks, passing Peregian, Coolum, and Maroochydore, before finishing at Mooloolaba. Meanwhile, the 30km route follows a similar path from Peregian Beach, while the 20km path from Marcoola Beach ends at Pirate Ship Park in Mooloolaba.

Di Westaway OAM, Founder of Coastrek, shared, “We’re seeing more women realise that getting outdoors and moving in nature isn’t just good for you, it’s transformative. Time in nature, walking with others, is one of the most powerful ways to reset mentally and physically. It really is the best medicine.”

More About the Event

Coastrek offers participants a 12-week training programme and access to a community led by the Wild Women Coastrek team. Emphasizing fun, fitness, and fundraising, the event is about camaraderie rather than competition. Since its inception in 2009, Coastrek has attracted over 90,000 trekkers and raised more than $57 million for Australian charities, including the Fred Hollows Foundation and the Heart Foundation. This year, the focus is on supporting Beyond Blue’s 24/7 Support Service.

Registration costs start at $125 per person, encouraging groups of two or more to form teams. Each step taken during the event contributes to ensuring mental health support is available for those in need across Australia. The event offers breathtaking coastal views and the opportunity to engage in a shared experience with friends and family. For more information or to register, visit the Coastrek website.

Beyond the stunning views of beaches, boardwalks, and coastal trails, participants receive the 12-week Coastrek Training Programme and access to a supportive community hosted by the Wild Women Coastrek team. It’s not a race; it’s a shared experience where the only thing that matters is crossing the finish line together.

Why join the 2026 movement? The answer lies not only in the challenge but also in the cause. Every step taken helps ensure Beyond Blue continues providing essential mental health support services across Australia. The event encourages individuals to engage with nature, promoting both physical and mental well-being. Coastrek’s unique combination of fitness, friendship, and philanthropy makes it a standout event on the Sunshine Coast.
