Wavegarden Cove Technology to Feature
Global Shred Ventures (GSV) has announced a partnership with Surf Farm to develop a new surf park on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. This project is set to break ground later this year, offering a significant boost to the region’s tourism industry.
Project Details and Impact
The surf park will be located near the iconic Glass House Mountains, creating one of Australia’s most notable surf and lifestyle destinations. It will feature the advanced 62-module Wavegarden Cove system, which is known for high-quality surf experiences. The park aims to offer more than just surfing; it will include integrated food, beverage, retail, and wellness options designed to attract both local communities and tourists from around the globe.
Adam Lamond, Executive Chairman of GSV, shared his excitement about the collaboration. “We are delighted to partner with Surf Farm to finalise participation arrangements as both development and equity partner. This project aligns strongly with GSV’s strategy of delivering high-quality, community-focused surf destinations that create long-term economic and social value.”
GSV will oversee the project’s delivery and long-term operational strategy, drawing on its international experience in surf and leisure assets. The partnership signifies a renewed collaboration between GSV and Wavegarden, building on previous international projects. Wavegarden’s proven technology and reliability will provide a strong foundation for this flagship destination.
Josema Odriozola, Founder and CEO of Wavegarden, expressed enthusiasm about the project. “We are pleased to collaborate once again with GSV and to support the delivery of a world-class surf facility in the Sunshine Coast region. This location is deeply connected to surf culture, and we believe Surf Farm will become an iconic national and international tourist destination.”
Chris Salmon, Director of Surf Farm, noted that the partnership with GSV is expected to be finalised in the coming months. This will position the project for the construction phase, which is currently in the detailed engineering and technical coordination stage. Salmon emphasised that working with GSV significantly strengthens Surf Farm’s pathway to construction. “Our vision is to create a world-class wave pool destination that celebrates the joy of surfing, offering something for both surfers and non-surfers alike.”
The development is anticipated to significantly enhance regional tourism and provide long-term social and economic benefits to the Sunshine Coast area. It represents an exceptional opportunity within one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.
