Exciting Events and Attractions Await Dog Enthusiasts

The Brisbane Dog Lovers Festival is set to make a grand return to the Brisbane Showgrounds on the 16th and 17th of May, promising a weekend filled with canine excitement and exclusive shopping opportunities.

Over 100 pet brands will feature at the festival, offering exclusive deals on nutrition, treats, toys, and accessories. The event promises to be a significant attraction for dog owners looking to stock up on essentials and indulge their pets.

Breed Showcase and Canine Experts

The festival will showcase more than 30 dog breeds in collaboration with Dogs Queensland. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about various breeds, including favourites like Golden Retrievers and rarer breeds such as the Yakutian Laika. Experts will be available to provide insights on breed characteristics and care tips.

One of the festival’s highlights will be the VitaPet Arena, featuring demonstrations by renowned dog experts like Dr Katrina Warren. New activities, including dog sledding and the fast-paced Scurry Dog, will also be introduced.

After a two-year hiatus, the festival returns bigger and better than ever, transforming the Showgrounds precinct into a canine playground. This expanded footprint spans iconic areas such as the Ekka Showbag Pavilion, Woodchop Arena, and Sideshow Alley, alongside exciting new outdoor zones.

The festival’s outdoor expansion unlocks an exciting new dimension for 2026, with the introduction of a dedicated arena showcasing dogs in action through dog sledding and flyball. Making its Australian debut is the fast-paced sport of Scurry Dog, bringing gun-dog style challenges into a fun and accessible format for everyday dogs, adding a thrilling new highlight to the program.

For those looking to connect more deeply, the heartwarming Adoption Zone will link visitors with rescue groups and dogs seeking loving homes, while the ever-popular Pat-A-Pooch experience allows for personal interactions with friendly canines.

Festival Director Paul Mathers expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We’re just over a week away from bringing Brisbane the biggest and most exciting Dog Lovers Festival we’ve ever delivered.”

The festival will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily at the Brisbane Showgrounds, Bowen Hills. Tickets are available at dogloversfestival.com.au/Brisbane, with visitors encouraged to secure their spots early.

Visitors are set to snap up the ultimate pet bargains next weekend, with the Brisbane Dog Lovers Festival delivering one of the biggest dog shopping experiences Queensland has ever seen, alongside an action-packed weekend of canine entertainment.

Don’t miss the chance to witness the exciting canine activities and explore the vast array of pet products available. Whether you’re a long-time dog lover or new to the world of canines, the festival offers something for everyone.
