Founder Luke Vu is celebrating by shouting anyone who shares his name a bánh mì, with hidden passes giving other customers a chance to join in.
Being named Luke comes with a free lunch in Melbourne on Wednesday 28th October, courtesy of Luke’s Bánh Mì.
Across the brand’s seven bakeries, anyone named Luke can collect a free standard bánh mì between 2pm and 4pm. Bring your identification. Your name is the ticket.
Founder Luke Vu is marking his birthday with the giveaway, hoping to turn the occasion into an annual National Luke’s Day.
“Birthdays are great, but sharing them with an entire city of Lukes is even better,” Vu said.
Not a Luke? Check Your Bánh Mì Bag
There’s a way in for everyone else, too.
Customers who purchase a bánh mì on Vu’s birthday could find a ‘Luke’s Pass’ tucked inside their bag. Each pass lets its recipient become a ‘Luke’ for the purpose of claiming a free standard bánh mì.
There are 10 passes hidden in bags per store, so customers with other names have a chance at a birthday freebie of their own.
For the Lukes, no hidden pass is needed. Just show identification when ordering during the two-hour giveaway.
