Burlesque Nights Come to Mill Place Merchants

on

Thursday Tease brings Nellie Noble, live jazz and a dinner of sharing plates and classic cocktails to the Melbourne CBD speakeasy.

Burlesque is joining the Thursday night bill at Mill Place Merchants, with two weekly performances by Nellie Noble alongside live jazz, cocktails and dinner.

The CBD speakeasy’s new residency, Thursday Tease, starts with live music at 8pm. Noble performs at 8:25pm and 9:25pm, bringing vintage burlesque to the candle-lit bar at 2 Mill Place.

Martinis, Lobster Rolls and Lasagna Fritti

Dinner has its own part to play. Western Australian lobster and king prawn rolls feature among the sharing plates, alongside crispy lasagna fritti.

The drinks follow a similarly classic direction. Mill Place Merchants focuses on traditional cocktails, with a crisp Martini among the options to accompany dinner and the show.

Food, drinks and performances share the same setting, making this a dinner-and-a-show evening from the outset. The bar’s eclectic interiors and candlelight carry the old-world theme beyond the stage.

A Little Thursday Tease

Originally from New Zealand, Noble draws on her love of music to shape her routines. She combines the classic bumps and grinds of golden-age burlesque with tracks from later decades, so the vintage styling does not mean the soundtrack stays in one era.

Expect sequins and artful tease. Two live jazz sets round out the evening, with Noble’s performances an hour apart.
