New Innovations in Natural Ingredients

LMR Naturals by IFF is preparing to showcase its latest innovations in natural ingredients at the International Exhibition of Raw Materials for Perfumery (SIMPPAR) on May 26–27, 2026, in Grasse, France. This event is a significant platform for leaders in the perfume industry to present and explore new products and ideas.

IFF will present new additions to its LMR Hearts collection during the exhibition. This collection demonstrates LMR Naturals’ expertise in blending pioneering science with sustainable agricultural practices. The collection features Lavandin Heart France, which has a strong coumarin profile, Armoise Heart Morocco, notable for its freshness, Ylang Heart Madagascar, known for its creamy and solar scent, and Geranium Heart Egypt, with a fruity-lychee aroma.

Bertrand de Préville, general manager of LMR, stated, “Our strength lies in our ability to master the full range of natural technologies to support perfumers’ creativity.” This mastery enables LMR to connect nature, science, and creativity, driving sustainable growth on a global scale.

Expanding the perfumer’s palette is central to LMR’s mission. The new LMR Hearts are developed through long-term sourcing partnerships and precision molecular distillation techniques at LMR’s Grasse site. Bernard Blerot, VP R&D Naturals at IFF, highlighted that science and sourcing expertise are crucial in enhancing the quality of natural ingredients, saying, “These new Hearts illustrate how science and sourcing expertise can elevate natural ingredients.”

Earlier this year, LMR Naturals also introduced several other innovations. These include Tonka Bean CO₂ Absolute, produced using renewable supercritical CO₂ extraction at LMR’s Aumont-Aubrac facility in France, and Osmanthus Absolute Fruity China, a fruit-forward interpretation developed as a captive natural for IFF perfumers. Pulpextract™ Passion Fruit and Raspberry are two new fruit ingredients offering vivid, juicy profiles exclusively for IFF perfumers.

These products respond to the rising consumer interest in fruity and gourmand fragrance notes, which are a significant part of women’s fragrances. IFF’s commitment to sustainable and innovative natural materials is evident in its efforts to expand the perfumer’s palette with new natural ingredients.

In addition to these innovations, IFF is set to inaugurate the Domaine des Naturals LMR in Grasse. This facility will be dedicated to experimenting with raw materials, further solidifying IFF’s long-term commitment to natural ingredients. LMR Naturals by IFF has been a leader in the natural ingredients sector for many years, and its continuous investment in research and development highlights its dedication to quality and sustainability.

The company’s efforts are not only advancing the perfumery industry but also promoting responsible innovation and stewardship of natural resources. “Responsible innovation has always been central to LMR,” said Blerot, as he underscored the importance of combining innovation, sustainability, and olfactive expression in its offerings.

Through these developments, LMR Naturals aims to provide greater purity and focus while maintaining the integrity of the natural material. IFF’s insights reveal that fruity and gourmand notes make up a significant and enduring share of women’s fragrances, and LMR is committed to meeting this demand with high-quality, sustainable ingredients.

The introduction of these new natural ingredients and the establishment of the Domaine des Naturals LMR highlights IFF’s 25-year investment in LMR and sustainable, natural materials, embedding pioneering science from seed and cultivation to harvesting and extraction.

With these initiatives, LMR Naturals continues to lead the way in the natural ingredients industry, ensuring that perfumers around the world have access to innovative and sustainable options for their creations.
