The French fragrance house will debut through David Jones stores nationally, online and selected niche perfumeries
French fragrance house Marc-Antoine Barrois will launch in Australia this September, bringing scents including Ganymede, Encelade, B683 and Tilia to local customers for the first time.
The collection will be sold through David Jones stores nationally and online, with the retailer serving as its exclusive Australian department store partner. Selected niche perfumeries will also stock the range.
Founded by French designer Marc-Antoine Barrois, the Paris-based fragrance and couture house has developed its entire perfume collection in partnership with perfumer Quentin Bisch.

Its range currently includes five Eau de Parfums and three Extraits. The house will celebrate 10 years of perfumery in 2026.
“Australia is a dynamic and increasingly sophisticated fragrance market,” Marc-Antoine Barrois said.
“Through our local partner, Prestige Brands Australia, we are delighted to partner with David Jones to introduce our fragrances to Australian consumers and share the creativity, craftsmanship and emotion that define our collection.”
From French couture to niche fragrance
Before establishing his own fashion house, Barrois worked alongside Dominique Sirop, Jean-Paul Gaultier at Hermès and Jean-Claude Jitrois.
He later expanded into perfume, working with Bisch to create each fragrance released under the Marc-Antoine Barrois name.
Bisch originally trained in the performing arts before moving into perfumery. He was named Perfumer of the Year in both 2019 and 2020.
His wider fragrance portfolio includes Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl and Very Good Girl, Jean Paul Gaultier’s Scandal pour Homme, Parfums de Marly’s Delina range, Ex Nihilo’s Fleur Narcotique, Mugler’s Angel Nova and Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million Parfum.

The Marc-Antoine Barrois collection has remained deliberately small, with the house releasing fragrances at a slower pace rather than following a frequent launch schedule.
Barrois lives on Belle-Île, off the coast of Brittany, where the surrounding landscape and daily life influence his work.
The house also presents perfume through projects spanning fashion, photography and installation art. These have included an installation at Milan Design Week in 2025 and a photographic exhibition presented during the Rencontres d’Arles in 2026.
Fernando Nasuti-Wood, the company’s managing director for China, Asia and the Middle East, is visiting Australia for the first time in July as the house begins its local market launch ahead of retail availability in September.
Nasuti-Wood has previously held senior positions with Maison Crivelli, Kilian Paris, Dior and L’Oréal, with experience across luxury fragrance, beauty and international retail expansion.
Marc-Antoine Barrois fragrances will be available through David Jones stores nationally, the David Jones website and selected niche perfumeries from September.
