Novel Explores Revolution in Tsarist Russia

Celebrated Australian author Natalie Scott has unveiled her latest historical novel, ‘The Rim of the Sky’, just as she celebrates her 98th birthday. Set during the revolutionary period of Tsarist Russia from 1861 to 1881, the novel captures the era’s significant social and political upheaval.

Elizaveta Georgievna, a young Russian noblewoman, navigates challenges related to social justice, women’s rights, and political changes across Russia, France, and Switzerland. Her journey is defined by love, sacrifice, and resistance as she faces the turbulent times head-on.

Following her memoir ‘A Secret Grief’, released in November 2025, ‘The Rim of the Sky’ is published by Popcorn Press. The book’s themes of autonomy, idealism, and change remain relevant to contemporary issues, making it both historical and timely.

“Natalie reminds us that creativity does not come with an expiry date,” stated Bonita Mersiades of Popcorn Press. “Her curiosity, imagination, and commitment to storytelling remain extraordinary.” The novel paints a vivid picture of a society on the brink of transformation.
