A Beautiful Noise opens at QPAC on 20 March 2027
Tickets for A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical go on sale to the general public at 9am on Friday 4 September via qpac.com.au.
The Brisbane season opens at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre on 20 March 2027 after the show’s Australian opening in Melbourne.
Pre-sales began earlier in the week. The production is presented in Australia by Paul Dainty AO and TEG Dainty, Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio.
The musical tells Neil Diamond’s life story and uses songs including Sweet Caroline, Cracklin’ Rosie, Cherry, Cherry, Forever in Blue Jeans, America and I Am… I Said.
Created in collaboration with Diamond, the show follows his rise from Brooklyn to international success.
Diamond has sold more than 140 million albums. He is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and he has received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
He said, “Some of my most thrilling nights have been while sharing my music with audiences around the world.” Diamond added, “I hope Australian audiences enjoy the show as much as I have.”
Queensland performers join Brisbane season
The Brisbane season will feature Queensland performers alongside a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
Queenslanders in the company include Brisbane-born Hannah Fredericksen, Etuate Lutui, Brisbane-born Jordan Malone and Maryborough-born Katrina Bickerton. Liam McIlwain, who is from Brisbane, is the resident director.
The Australian cast in Melbourne is led by Will Swenson as Neil Diamond – Then and Terence Crawford as Neil Diamond – Now. Ashleigh Rubenach plays Marcia Murphey and Monica Sayers plays Doctor.
Alana Tranter appears as Jaye Posner, Tim Wright plays Fred Weintraub and Tommy O’Rourke, and Paul Hanlon plays Bert Berns and Kieve Diamond.
Hannah Fredericksen plays Ellie Greenwich and Rose Diamond. Rob Mallett is standby Neil Diamond – Then, while Mark Owen Taylor is standby Neil Diamond – Now, Fred Weintraub, Tommy O’Rourke, Bert Berns and Kieve Diamond.
Performances in Brisbane are scheduled for Wednesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 1pm, Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 6.30pm.
