FIFA and PIF Strengthen Partnership
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has been named an Official Tournament Supporter of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, to be held in North America and Asia. This collaboration was announced on 14th May and aims to expand football's reach and enhance fan engagement.
The partnership builds on PIF's previous involvement with FIFA, following their association during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™. It includes the integration of PIF-owned companies, Savvy Games Group and Qiddiya City, to deliver unique fan experiences and innovative engagement throughout the tournament.
Romy Gai, Chief Business Officer at FIFA, stated, "We are delighted to have PIF as a Tournament Supporter of this year’s game-changing FIFA World Cup. Together, we look forward to delivering a historic tournament that inspires and unites fans from around the world."
Commitment to Football Growth
The collaboration underscores PIF's commitment to sports, particularly football, as a priority sector. It aligns with Saudi Arabia's broader goals to enhance global football access and create opportunities for youth, reflecting the country's ambition to host the FIFA World Cup 2034™.
Mohamed AlSayyad, Head of Corporate Brand at PIF, remarked, "PIF continues to expand its global footprint in sport, with football at the heart of this growth. This partnership builds on our existing FIFA relationship from last year’s FIFA Club World Cup – and our work with Concacaf – to deliver a positive and lasting impact."
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be the largest in history, featuring 48 teams and hosted across three countries. PIF aims to leverage this platform to promote football and unlock new opportunities for youth engagement and infrastructure development worldwide.
As the tournament approaches, further details on the specific initiatives and programmes PIF will support are expected to be announced, marking a significant step toward enhancing global football engagement.
