Celebrations Marking Anniversaries of Iconic Musicals
SYDNEY — The Sydney Musical & Opera Society has announced an orchestral concert series, An Evening with Rodgers & Hammerstein, taking place across three New South Wales venues starting May 2026. The event will celebrate classic musicals like The Sound of Music and South Pacific.
According to the society, the performances will feature seven principal vocalists, a full choir, and a 23-piece orchestra, with shows scheduled at Glen Street Theatre, Pavilion Performing Arts Centre, and IPAC Wollongong. The series coincides with the 75th anniversary of The King and I and the 50th anniversary of the Pavilion Performing Arts Centre.

The concert will be directed by Kate Maree Hoolihan and include acclaimed performer April Marie Naho. The Sydney Musical & Opera Society confirmed that audiences will experience immersive projections and period-inspired costumes. Tickets start at $60, with group bookings available.
