Spiegel Haus Melbourne Returns To The CBD With Briefs And La Ronde

The Chinatown venue will open its second season from 23rd September with circus, cabaret, jazz, burlesque, comedy and family entertainment.

Spiegel Haus Melbourne will return to the CBD on 23rd September, with Briefs: The Works and La Ronde leading its second season.

Its inaugural season ran from November 2025 to July 2026. The venue said hundreds of thousands of people visited the Chinatown site, which features Spiegeltents, bars, food trucks, a theatre and rooftop views.

Briefs And La Ronde Lead Season Two

Briefs: The Works will return to the Spiegeltent for four weeks, combining circus, drag, burlesque and comedy.

From 21st October, La Ronde will begin its residency in the Spiegeltent and make its Melbourne debut. Created by the team behind Blanc de Blanc and Late Night Vice, the production features circus performers from around the world.

“Our first season showed us just how much appetite there is for a venue where circus, cabaret, comedy, music and family entertainment can all live on one rooftop,” Spiegel Haus Melbourne Creative Director Chris Mitchell said.

Live funk and disco show Vaudeville Smash’d will also return from 26th September with a mix of concert, cabaret and variety performance.

Jazz, Burlesque And Family Shows Join The Line-Up

October will bring three Australian Burlesque Festival productions to the venue: New Follies, The Big Tease and Empress Erotique.

The Melbourne International Jazz Festival line-up includes Haus Party and Sachém: Strangers Again, while Jerry Springtime Show and Daft Punked will represent Melbourne Fringe: The Tribute.

School holiday shows include Circus The Show, The Magic Pyjama Party, The Greatest Magic Show, The Glow Squad and Peter Coombe in Newspaper Mama…Everyday.

More events are still to be announced. Spiegel Haus Melbourne will also operate as a festival hub for Midsumma and the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2027.
