Truck body maker names preferred heavy-duty partner
STG Global has selected the Hino 700 Series as its preferred heavy-duty truck partner for applications including vacuum trucks, water carts and tilt trays.
The Australian company manufactures and supplies specialised truck bodies, service vehicles and parts. It assembles truck bodies used across construction, mining, waste management, infrastructure and utilities.
Chief executive James Agius said the match reflected a shared focus on quality, durability and reliability. He also pointed to Hino’s range of Euro 6 emissions compliant heavy-duty trucks in Australia.
According to STG Global, the Hino 700 Series fits the applications it builds for customers. Those include vacuum trucks, water carts and tilt trays.
The 700 Series has been in the Australian market since 2021. Agius said that track record helped support the decision.
He said the truck range delivers performance, safety and driver comfort for STG Global and its customers. He also said the model spread gives the company flexibility to meet customer expectations.
Dealer network and warranty back customers
Another factor was Hino Australia’s support network. Agius said STG Global was impressed by the level of support from Hino Australia and its extensive dealership network.
STG Global customers will also have access to Hino Advantage business solutions. That package includes a standard warranty of five years or 600,000 kilometres.
The partnership also reflects links in Japan. STG Global’s parent company, Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo, has a long-standing global relationship with Hino.
Agius said that connection made the choice logical because Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo is a specialised truck manufacturer in Japan. He said the existing relationship added to the commercial fit in Australia.
Meanwhile, Hino Australia expects 2026 to be a record year for the 700 Series. President and chief executive Richard Emery linked that outlook to an expanded model range and a new Hino 12-speed automated manual transmission.
The companies did not disclose how many trucks STG Global expects to buy or when deliveries will start. However, the agreement gives STG Global a preferred heavy-duty platform across several truck body applications.
