Related Companies Also Face Termination

SYDNEY — The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) has announced the termination of the tax agent registration of Parampreet Singh Rajput, citing misconduct. The decision, made public today, includes a four-year ban on Mr. Rajput reapplying for registration.

The TPB has also terminated the registrations of Mr. Rajput’s company, P&G Accounting Solution Pty Ltd, and seven other companies linked to him, including KPG Taxation branches in Brisbane, Craigieburn, and Sydney. These actions were taken after Mr. Rajput was deemed not to be a fit and proper person due to breaches of the Tax Agent Services Act 2009.

Allegations and Legal Proceedings

According to the TPB, Mr. Rajput’s conduct included violations such as failing to notify the board of a court judgment against his company regarding the Fair Work Act, orchestrating kickback wage payments, and making false statements to the Australian Taxation Office. These findings were based on evidence from the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Mr. Rajput has sought a review of the TPB’s decision through the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART). However, the ART has refused to stay all nine termination decisions, and the cases will proceed to a final hearing.

TPB Chair Peter de Cure AM emphasised the importance of integrity in the tax profession, stating, “Community confidence in the tax profession is paramount, and the TPB is committed to protecting the public and ensuring the integrity of the tax system.”

The TPB advises that Mr. Rajput and his associates are no longer permitted to provide tax services. The board encourages the public to report any unauthorised tax agent activities immediately.
