SYDNEY Willoughby City Council has announced the return of its annual Seniors Festival, inviting older residents to engage in a series of activities throughout March. The event, themed ‘Live Life in Colour’, will feature over 35 free or low-cost events, according to the council.
Running from March 1 to 31, the festival will offer a variety of programs, from art workshops to live performances, showcasing the talents and contributions of the senior community. Highlights of the Seniors Festival
Among the key events is the Seniors Gala Concert on March 10 at Zenith Theatre, featuring performances by Hitmakers 4 and local talents. Other activities include a pottery class on March 16 and a forum on March 17 celebrating seniors’ roles in the community. The festival also includes the Golden Girls Autumn Fashion Show on March 18.
In addition to these events, the festival will host health and wellness workshops focusing on physical and mental well-being. These programs aim to empower seniors by promoting active and healthy aging. The festival is a testament to the vibrant spirit and active participation of seniors in the community, encouraging everyone to embrace this dynamic phase of life with enthusiasm.
The festival is supported by community groups and government services to ensure a broad and accessible program. With many events likely to fill up quickly, the council encourages early booking. More details can be found on the Willoughby City Council’s website.
