New System Bridges AI Productivity Gap
Asana, Inc. unveiled its innovative operating system for human-agent teams, known as Agentic Work Management, on 4th June at the Work Innovation Summit in London. This launch represents Asana’s most significant product evolution and arrives at a crucial time for enterprises.
The system is designed to bridge the AI productivity gap, a challenge faced by organisations where 75% of knowledge workers use AI, yet only 5% of companies report meaningful productivity gains. This gap is attributed to several factors, including the difficulty of integrating AI agents into teams, lack of context for agents, and concerns over governance and data security.
Agentic Work Management aims to address these issues by enabling organisations to manage critical work processes with both humans and AI agents using the same plan, context, and governance framework. This strategy allows for greater coordination and execution across enterprise systems.
Within this new system, AI Teammates and Asana Dash, an AI Chief of Staff, provide users with personalized guidance based on individual goals and priorities. Asana Dash captures follow-ups from meetings, Slack threads, and emails, turning them into structured tasks within the Work Graph.
New Applications and Features
Asana plans to release several new applications, including Asana Service Management for IT, Command by Asana for Builders, and Asana Client Management for Professional Services. These applications are designed to enhance productivity across sectors such as IT, construction, and professional services.
The company foundation is ideally suited for the agentic era, allowing organisations to leverage AI effectively. Dan Rogers, CEO of Asana, emphasised, “Our system’s design helps bridge the productivity gap by providing a framework for integrating AI into everyday workflows.”
Major companies like FedEx and COS have already adopted Agentic Work Management. They report significant improvements in operational efficiency and productivity. These early adopters highlight the system’s potential to transform enterprise operations.
Agentic Work Management, along with AI Teammates and AI Studio, is currently available. Asana plans to roll out additional applications in phases over the coming months, further enhancing the capabilities of the system.
