Strengthening AI Governance Across Enterprises

Boomi announced its intention to acquire Lunar.dev, aiming to enhance governed agent connectivity across global enterprises. The announcement was made on 13th May 2026, with the objective of bolstering Boomi’s AI gateway capabilities.

On 13th May 2026, Boomi made a significant move by signing a letter of intent to acquire Lunar.dev, an innovator in AI and MCP gateway solutions. This acquisition is expected to enrich Boomi’s Enterprise Platform with advanced features that will help govern and scale AI usage across various systems. This includes ensuring secure and efficient interaction between AI tools and enterprise applications.

Steve Lucas, Chairman and CEO of Boomi, stated, “Our intent to acquire Lunar.dev is focused on one priority: giving customers control over every interaction between AI, data, and applications. That’s essential to building trust and scaling AI with confidence.”

Expanding Boomi Connect Features

Integrating Lunar.dev will introduce a new control layer for managing AI interactions, allowing organisations to enforce detailed policy governance. This will provide visibility into AI activity and ensure high-performance operations across large-scale deployments.

With Lunar.dev, Boomi plans to extend its Boomi Connect platform to provide secure, governed connectivity between AI tools and enterprise systems. This includes over 1000 managed tools that will benefit from scalable AI connectivity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The development will also include features for cost management and observability, enabling organisations to control AI access and secure enterprise data more effectively. Boomi aims to establish a comprehensive foundation for governed agent connectivity, facilitating scalable and secure AI deployment across industries.

Lunar.dev’s AI gateway delivers granular, policy-driven control over AI interactions, with the visibility, security, and performance required for enterprise environments. These capabilities ensure AI operates reliably, securely, and within defined guardrails.

The acquisition will enable Boomi to introduce both centralized and decentralized control layers for AI management. Organisations can enforce fine-grained policy and governance across every AI interaction, while achieving full observability into AI activity, including prompts, responses, and downstream actions.

Boomi Connect will include the MCP gateway, which enhances cost management and observability. This feature will allow organisations to discover, govern, and manage AI services through a centralized catalogue across Boomi and third-party environments.

For more insights and updates, Boomi World keynotes will be streamed live on LinkedIn from Chicago, offering the latest insights from Boomi’s executives, customers, and partners on 13th and 14th May.
