Fielder's Journey to the 2026 Finals
Brady Fielder from Clermont, Queensland, will compete in the 2026 PBR World Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, beginning on 7th May. Fielder ranks number 2 globally and is a strong contender for the title. He grew up in Clermont and began riding calves at a young age, honing his skills early.
Joining Fielder are fellow Queenslanders Callum Miller from Warwick and Macaulie Leather from Calliope. Leather makes his world finals debut after placing in the top five at the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour last weekend.
The finals, staged over two weekends, feature 45 top riders from around the world. These competitors will vie for the championship title, a prestigious gold buckle, and a $1 million bonus.
PBR Australia General Manager Glen Young praised the Australian riders. He highlighted Fielder’s high-marked ride at last year’s finals. “He, along with Callum and Macaulie, are making serious inroads into the American PBR circuit,” Young said.
Challenges and Achievements
Fielder’s journey has been marked by challenges, including a serious eye injury at 16. Despite setbacks like a broken leg earlier this year, he maintains a high riding percentage and was a key player in the 2023 Teams Championship with the Texas Rattlers.
His determination was evident when he returned from injury to secure a runner-up position in the Teams MVP race. Fielder has also overcome significant personal adversity, having lost his home in a fire.
The finals commence with Rounds 1-4 from 7th to 10th May, followed by Rounds 5-8 and the Championship Round from 14th to 17th May. The event will conclude with the crowning of the 2026 PBR World Champion.
Back in Australia, the country’s top bull riders will compete in Nowra on 9th May, with Mareeba’s Kurt Shephard leading. This event is crucial as it precedes the announcement of the 2026 PBR Origin Series teams. Last year, Fielder’s impressive performance at the PBR World Finals earned him the award for the highest-marked ride of the championship.
Australian riders continue to prove themselves among the world’s elite. Fielder played a key role in the Texas Rattlers’ 2023 Teams Championship. This year, all eyes are on his pursuit of the gold buckle.
