Circus Oz Returns to MICF 2026

Circus Oz stages Here, There and Everywhere! at Melbourne Town Hall from 8th April to 18th April 2026

Circus Oz will premiere Here, There and Everywhere! at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2026. The production will run from 8th April to 18th April at Melbourne Town Hall’s Main Hall. The limited season follows the company’s recent holiday run on 42nd Street in New York City.

The new show features Circus Oz’s multigenerational ensemble. Performers combine acrobatics, live music and physical comedy across a 60-minute program. According to the company, the production suits audiences of all ages.

Here, There and Everywhere! delivers acrobatic sequences alongside comic routines and live band accompaniment. The ensemble moves rapidly between choreographed feats and improvised moments. As a result, the show blends precision skills with spontaneous stage action.

Director Nicci Wilks leads the production as director and co-devisor. She said, “We’re thrilled to premiere Here, There and Everywhere! at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and return to the iconic Melbourne Town Hall.”

She added, “For more than four decades, Circus Oz has been creating bold, irreverent Australian circus, and this brand-new show carries that spirit forward. It brings together generations of artists to celebrate the skill, humour and joyful chaos that have defined the company since the beginning.”

A 2025 review stated, “Circus Oz excel once again with an infectious feast of acrobatic delights, hand-clapping music and daredevilry”. Meanwhile, another 2025 review described the company as “Circus Oz bringing us, as ever, funny, daggy, clever, exhilarating Australian circus”.

The company positions the production within the broader Melbourne International Comedy Festival program. Therefore, the season aligns circus performance with a major comedy event.

The ensemble includes Sharon Gruenert, Leo Pentland, Angelique Ross, Hannah Richards, Spenser Inwood, Debra Batton and Mozes. Each performer also serves as a co-devisor on the production. Consequently, the creative process draws from multiple artistic perspectives.

The show integrates a live band to support acrobatic sequences. Performers execute aerial routines, physical theatre segments and ensemble choreography. Additionally, comic timing shapes transitions between high skill acts and staged chaos.

Circus Oz describes the cast as ricocheting between brilliance and nonsense. Performers incorporate props and physical objects into fast-paced routines. Furthermore, the production combines slapstick moments with technical acrobatics.

The season marks the company’s return to Melbourne Town Hall. Notably, the Main Hall provides a central city venue during the festival period. The run remains strictly limited across the ten-day season.
