Nikka whisky event features five Japanese expressions on 29th April

Mill Place Merchants will host a one-night Nikka whisky tasting on Wednesday, 29th April in Melbourne CBD. The event will run from 6pm to 9pm and will feature a guided tasting led by Nikka ambassador Marcus Parmenter.

The evening will centre on a curated selection of five Nikka whisky expressions, each presented with a focus on craftsmanship and production. Guests will be guided through the range, with each pour highlighting individual characteristics and flavour profiles.

The lineup includes Yoichi Single Malt, Miyagikyo Single Malt, Taketsuru Pure Malt, Nikka From the Barrel, and Nikka Coffey Malt. Each whisky will be introduced sequentially as part of the guided experience.

Tasting includes five Nikka whisky expressions and canapés

In addition, the tasting will include a selection of canapés designed to complement the whiskies. The food offering includes Jamón Serrano croquettes with truffle emulsion, flash-cured Yarra Valley salmon crudo, and lasagna fritti with stracciatella.

Each pairing has been developed to align with the whiskies’ flavour profiles without overpowering them. As a result, the menu focuses on balance across texture and taste.

The event will take place within the venue’s candlelit interior, which provides a contained setting for the tasting. Furthermore, the format is structured to maintain a consistent flow throughout the evening.

Each ticket includes access to all five whisky tastings and the full canapé offering. Consequently, the event is designed as a complete guided experience rather than a drop-in format.
