New Infrastructure Enhances Samsung’s IT Capabilities

SEOUL — Digital Realty has announced its provision of enterprise-grade data centre infrastructure to Samsung Electronics at the ICN10 data centre in Seoul. The collaboration aims to support Samsung’s IT operations by offering stable and scalable colocation infrastructure, according to a statement released by Digital Realty.

The ICN10 data centre, operational since 2022 in Sangam-dong, Seoul, is Korea’s first carrier-neutral facility. With a maximum IT capacity of 12MW, it is designed to meet high-density power requirements and provide resilient network connectivity to support workloads such as AI and high-performance computing, as confirmed by the company.

Global Data Centre Trends

Chris Han, Head of Korea at Digital Realty, emphasised that the provision of infrastructure at ICN10 reflects the company’s ability to support large-scale customer environments in Korea. “We remain committed to delivering stable, high-performance infrastructure that meets the operational needs of global enterprises,” Han stated.

The announcement comes as enterprises worldwide increasingly demand secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure to support large-scale data processing and operational stability. Digital Realty’s global platform ensures consistent infrastructure standards and practices across key metros, assisting enterprises in maintaining reliable performance across regions.

The strategic location of the ICN10 data centre enables Samsung to leverage proximity to key business hubs, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing latency. This move is part of Samsung’s broader strategy to optimise its digital transformation initiatives and maintain its competitive edge in the fast-evolving technology sector. By partnering with Digital Realty, Samsung aims to enhance its IT infrastructure, ensuring that its systems remain robust, agile, and capable of handling the increasing demands of modern digital applications.

As the digital landscape continues to evolve, companies like Samsung and Digital Realty are at the forefront, driving innovation and setting new benchmarks for technological infrastructure. The collaboration not only highlights the importance of reliable data centre solutions but also underscores the critical role of strategic partnerships in advancing corporate objectives and achieving technological growth. Both companies are committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, ensuring that their infrastructures remain at the cutting edge of technological advancement.
