Cyberjaya Campus to Boost Connectivity
Digital Realty launched its operations in Malaysia with a new campus in Cyberjaya, as announced on 8th June 2026. This move is part of the company's strategy to enhance digital connectivity across Southeast Asia.
The Cyberjaya campus will integrate Malaysia into Digital Realty's global network, offering enterprises the ability to deploy AI and data-driven workloads. The development aims to provide up to 32 megawatts of data centre capacity.
Key figures attended the inauguration ceremony, including YB Gobind Singh Deo, Malaysia's Minister of Digital, and Serene Nah, Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific at Digital Realty. Gobind Singh Deo highlighted the importance of this investment for Malaysia's digital infrastructure and AI ambitions.
Facilities and Future Expansion
The Cyberjaya campus consists of three facilities. KUL10, an operational site, offers 1.5MW of IT capacity, and is set for upgrades to double its capacity by late 2027. KUL11, a newly acquired data centre, provides 15MW of IT capacity. A future expansion site is planned to add another 14MW by mid-2028.
Interconnected via dedicated fibre, the facilities are supported by over 40 network service providers, forming a robust digital ecosystem. This aligns with Malaysia's goals to become a leading digital and AI hub in the region.
Anuar Fariz Fadzil, CEO of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, stated, "Investments in globally connected digital infrastructure are crucial for driving innovation and strengthening regional connectivity."
Digital Realty's presence in Malaysia supports cloud providers, enterprises, and network service providers, allowing them to expand and interconnect across Southeast Asia. This initiative will enable Malaysian enterprises to connect with more than 300 data centres globally.
The campus is anchored in Cyberjaya and purpose-built to support Malaysian enterprises of all sizes. It enables the transition from traditional IT environments to hybrid architectures and AI-driven use cases.
By mid-2028, the planned expansion will enhance Malaysia's position in cross-border data flows, supporting next-generation digital services while reinforcing Digital Realty's footprint in key regional markets.
