The Comic's Lounge is a real stomping ground for Melbourne comedy fans. It’s the sort of place where the crowd is always up for a laugh, tucked away on Errol Street’s leafy stretch, with a classic club feel and a bar that hums all night. Rufus Rice has built a following online, but his live shows are a rowdier, more unpredictable beast, expect quick wit, adult themes and a bit of cheek in a room that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This one’s for anyone who appreciates stand-up that’s a little unfiltered and a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy seeing internet personalities truly work a room. It stands out because Rufus doesn’t just recycle his online material, the energy is different in person, and the Lounge’s close-knit setup makes it hard for even the back rows to hide from the action.
